Why does our name say UTMB?The Montgomery County Health Department is staffed and managed by UTMB, a health science center headquartered in Galveston whose network of hospitals and clinics stretches throughout Southeast Texas. One of these clinics, the UTMB Women and Child Health Center, is co-located with the Montgomery County Health Department in Conroe. While the MCHD carries the UTMB-Galveston name, all of its activities and efforts are focused on serving the residents of Montgomery County.
